Howard Shepherd (Shep) is recognised as Britain’s foremost banjo player whose band SHEP’S BANJO BOYS became nationally recognised for their live musical spots on Granada TV’s long running series “The Comedians” being repeated on Granada Plus. The band appeared at many top venues throughout the UK and abroad including the London Palladium for a season and entertained passengers aboard the QE2 over several years. 2002 saw them at the Blackpool Opera House for 16 Sunday concerts with The Comedians.

Mike Dexter on guitar/banjo has been Howard’s swinging sidekick for over 20 years and has vast experience playing his style of guitar and banjo throughout the UK and abroad.

Howard finds his Duo or Trio is very popular for today’s market/budget and now leads SHEP’S RHYTHM ACES which appeals to all ages with their happy lively music with a smile – in addition to their cabaret act, when playing acoustic they are ideally suited for outdoor events/promotions/marquees/wedding receptions/cruises, etc. They have regularly entertained passengers on the 'Orient Express Northern Belle' top class train (below).
